Thank you to everyone who commented on last week's post, "What do you know about Nicaragua." We found out some very interesting things about Nicaragua:
- It is the largest country in Central America.
- It is the first democratic country in the world to have female president ('91-'97).
- 40 percentย of the population lives in poverty.
- 20 percent of the people do not have access to drinking service water.
- The rainy season falls between June and October.
These are solid facts about the country you are going to. As for everyone who said they no nothing, that's fine because you will, especially while you are in the country.

Now, let's devulge a little deeper into your country. What I would like to ask is what problems does Nicaragua face? Are there factors that make everyday living very difficult? Are they environmental? Political? Ethnic and Social? Religious?
Let's see what we can find and report our findings back here. If you are stuck, try a news site. They are usually great for country information as well as the most up-to-date issues affecting where you are going.
