Hello, Hello!
I'm so very excited about spending this summer with you and the beautiful people of Nicaragua.
I believe introductions are in order.
My name is Amy Book and I'll be one of your leaders for the summer.
I'm from the small town of Fairfield in Southern Illinois. I lived there until I went to college at Southeast Missouri State University where I got a degree in Child Development with a minor in Social Work.
After college I moved to San Diego to work for the YMCA at a resident camp.
And I lived there until I went on The World Race in January of 2010.
After the Race I moved back to Fairfield and have been substitute teaching in the local schools.
The World Race was my first mission trip. And what a trip it was! It was a year full of great adventures and great challenges. I absolutely fell in love with the people and the places we visited. And I definitely learned a lot about myself and what it means to be exactly who I was made to be. Jesus is pretty much the coolest and there is nothing like hearing and knowing His voice and living a life of Love. I can't wait to meet the people of Nicaragua and see what Jesus has to say to them. Hopefully he gives me the gift of speaking Spanish between now and then :)
I am very much looking forward to meeting and getting to know you all very soon!
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Lots of love!
